Kodak Alaris has launched the Kodak S5000 Series scanners, along with a latest update to its software, which aim to make information capture easier than ever for users.
While many businesses have now digitalised large parts of their office operations, managers are still looking for greater efficiencies, and information capture is one area they are looking to.
Scanners and the software they use are crucial to this, and users are increasingly looking for speed married to simplicity to ensure tasks are completed quickly.
It is with this in mind that Kodak Alaris has launched the new Kodak S5000 Series scanners and the latest release of Kodak Capture Pro software. The new offerings offer intelligent features that quickly capture and index critical data, and take the complexity out of information capture, according to the company.
The S5000 Series replaces the Kodak i5000 Series scanners and is designed to meet the needs of the most demanding high-volume, high-precision scanning environments and provides an expanded range of flexible options designed to meet evolving customer needs.
To get the most value from each scanner, users can easily switch between imaging modes to optimise scanning operations for their specific workflows.
Quality, speed and accuracy
The new models combine exceptional image quality, faster capture speeds and accuracy, along with superior paper protection and versatile media handling capabilities, to deliver seamless and versatile workflow automation.
The scanners can capture up to 1,260 images per minute, thanks to enhanced Dynamic Flow Technology, which features 32 powerful CPU cores for the most robust throughput, and new Tri-Stream scanning capabilities that enables operators to ‘Scan-Once, Output-Many’. Perfect Page technology delivers consistent high-quality images that are better than the original; advanced Intelligent Document Protection ‘listens’ for paper feeding problems and notifies users before jams or misfeeds occur, helping to safeguard valuable data and further improve efficiency; and best-in-class metal detection detects stray staples, paper clips and other metallic objects, to ensure all documents are scanned without damage or skipped pages.
In addition, the S5210 scanner includes an Image Addressing feature that enables users to sequentially scan batches of documents with a unique batch and document identifier, ideal for more complex scanning requirements.
The S5000 Series scanners have been designed to be easy to set up and use. For instance, they feature a large and intuitive 9.3-inch control panel with a 7.5-inch-high contrast touchscreen that enables operators to choose scanning profiles, resolve issues and monitor device status, with a simple swipe and tap.
Powerful capture software
The S5000 series Scanners are optimised to work with Kodak Capture Pro Software. Version 7.0 utilises true 64-bit processing for the most powerful and robust scanning experience and includes an updated and modern user interface designed to simplify scanning tasks.
In addition, the S5000 Series scanners include a Continuous Cropping Mode that enables users to scan documents of unlimited length by breaking the images down into pieces. When paired with Capture Pro V7.0, the images can be stitched back together to create a single image that is better than the original, according to the manufacturer.
Make it easy
With the new scanners, it should be easier for operators to quickly capture data. “We continue to invest in our product lines to help our customers power up their digital transformation, document compliance policies, and document capture processes,” says Megan Bevilacqua, senior product manager at Kodak Alaris.
“This launch builds on our long history of leadership in the document capture space and further enhances our broad scanner portfolio, combining unparalleled ease of use with proprietary features to make it easy for operators to capture paper-based information and deliver the data into core business applications, quickly and accurately.
“With the best in class and built to last Kodak S5000 Series Scanners and Kodak Capture Pro 7.0 Software, customers benefit from unmatched versatility, speed and image quality.”
