Brother launches New Labellers for Quick and Compliant Wiring

Brother launches new labellers for quick & compliant wiring

Brother UK has upgraded its professional labelling line-up, launching two new devices to help make compliance easier for electricians and network installers.

The refreshed P-Touch E-series range is built with electricians and network installers in mind and offers a professional labelling solution for any electrical, datacom, telecom or security equipment installation. This ensures cables, conduits, switches and sockets are clearly identified with long-lasting, durable labels, supporting compliance with IET wiring regulations and ANSI/TIA cabling standards.

Brother’s new PT-E560 and PT-E310 devices replace the PT-E550 and PT-E300 respectively. The E560’s automatic cutter includes a half-cut feature, enabling the user to print multiple labels in one go and peel off the relevant stickers as needed, reducing tape wastage. Both devices also come with fit-for-purpose Pro TZe tapes with improved specifications and have a rechargeable Li-ion battery, as well as Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity which enable use with the Brother Pro Label Tool app and P-touch Editor software via PC or Mac.

The new E-Series models are designed to help electricians produce labels for distribution boards, consumer units, warning signs, cable identification and PAT testing. The devices are also suited to help network installers label racks and cabinets, port ID, patch panels, equipment and telecoms outlets and LAN and fiber optic cables. Smartphone connectivity means users can create, edit and share custom templates through the Pro Label Tool app, with the the option to customise labels with personal information, QR codes, 2D barcodes and company logos. Professionals can also access ready to print industry templates like patch panels, cable wrap, faceplate and safety signage.

“Our P-Touch E-Series range of upgraded professional labelling devices are purposefully designed to help electricians and network installers to make quicker and lighter work of producing clear, durable and compliant labels while in the field,” said Louise Unsworth, head of labelling at Brother UK.

“Connectivity to the Pro Label Tool app means professionals can make compliant labels quickly and conveniently, with access to pre-made industry templates as well as the options for customisation, including adding anything from a QR code and 2D barcode to a company logo. Meanwhile, our tough Pro Tape Labels are designed to withstand the harshest conditions, ensuring electrical devices are labelled for the life and duration of their use – as required by the 18th IET wiring regulations.”

All models in Brother’s professional labelling line-up are compatible with its Pro Tape Range. Pro Tapes have been tested against the effects of water, chemicals, oil, heat, cold, sunlight and more, and are also three times the strength than the standard TZe tapes on textured surfaces.

The upgraded E560 comes with two different Pro Tapes as standard, offering a complete solution to comply with wiring regulations for cabling and network equipment.
