Canon Inc. has published its Canon Sustainability Report 2026. Intended for a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, investors, ESG specialists, students, and employees, the report provides a detailed, comprehensive overview of Canon’s sustainability principles and framework. It also outlines the positive environmental and societal outcomes generated across the entire business value chain through its ESG initiatives.
The 2026 edition provides more examples of environmental initiatives related to Canon’s products, including efforts to minimise environmental impact throughout product lifecycles. A new highlights page presents major topics in a more accessible format by summarising key developments and progress over the past year, including environmental and societal contributions made through products, technologies, and solutions.
Some key highlights are:
- CO2 emissions reduction effect of sold products (GWh) continues to increase, which is a positive effect, increasing by a further 3.15% year on year.
- Landfill amount of General Waste reduced by 342 tons year on year
- Total Wastewater discharged in 1,000 cubic metres reduced by 3.82%.
- Employee positivity has risen to its highest level yet, with an additional 3pts on responses related to engagement, sense of fulfilment, opportunities for personal growth and comfortable working environments.
