Katun has launched a new range of 11 A3 MFPs into Europe, which the company says are designed to improve efficiency and productivity for business users, as well as providing security for users and help towards sustainability goals.
Katun is a well-known name in the aftermarket space for its copiers and laser printer toner cartridges – and has been for many years – but now the company has expanded its range by launching a range of multifunction printers (MFPs) in Europe. The Arivia line was launched in the US and Mexico in September, followed by a debut in the UK, Germany, Italy and France on 18 November 2024. The printers will be available in Spain early next year.
Catering to different needs
The initial launch of the Arivia line includes 11 A3 MFPs, comprising five monochrome and six color models to cater to a variety of business needs.
Arivia printers combine cutting-edge features with intuitive design and robust security protocols, making it ideal for the evolving needs of today’s businesses, according to Katun. The MFPs are engineered for seamless integration into existing workflows and deliver top-tier reliability and performance for essential functions, including printing, copying, scanning and faxing. This includes flexible paper and finishing options.
The launch of Arivia underscores Katun’s ongoing commitment to driving its partner’s business success by offering advanced technology that prioritises reliability, usability, and efficiency, all while upholding the company’s renowned high-quality standards and partner-centric approach.
Katun has opted to launch Arivia in Europe by using a virtual showroom, which enables customers to explore the product from anywhere and at any time.
“We are excited to introduce Arivia to the European market,” said Heidi Boller, Katun’s general manager of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “This launch marks a major milestone in Katun’s global strategy, which is focused on supporting our partner’s business success. Arivia embodies our commitment to transforming office technology by offering dependable, sustainable, and innovative solutions that help our clients improve efficiency and productivity.”
First for Katun
The Arivia line are the first MFPs to be manufactured by Katun, which is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The company is best known for providing OEM-compatible imaging supplies and a comprehensive range of products and services for printers, copiers and MFPs. Katun has more than 45 years of experience in the office technology industry and serves about 8,000 dealer and distributor partners globally. Harnessing their wealth of industry expertise, Katun aims to bring clients ‘success made simple,’ offering products and services focused on reliability, simplicity and innovation.
With regard to its ‘success made simple’ mantra, Katun has designed its colour MFPs to have intuitive accessibility features to help bring users’ work to life with brilliant definition, while the monochrome models deliver crisp, reliable prints for dynamic office environments. Both options have been designed to streamline operations, reduce workplace disruptions and offer the latest functionality without complication, according to the company.
The Arivia line also delivers high-resolution printing with vivid colours and crisp lines for exceptional definition. The MFPs also have colour touchscreens – with a minimum size of 7″ – to provide a user-oriented experience. The MFPs can also print up to 65ppm.
On the scanning and document management side, Arivia enhances workflow and data accessibility, providing users with a modernised approach to digital transformation and reducing the complexities of traditional document handling. Katun’s products achieve scan speeds from 80 to 270ppm, a wide range that means customers can choose the product that best meets its needs.
Security
Security is also a priority as it is well known that badly secured printers can provide an access point for cyber criminals. Arivia products are built with comprehensive security measures that integrate seamlessly into any office environment. Arivia MFPs are fitted with TPM 2.0 chips, IP address filtering and has SSD encryption as standard, according to Quocirca.
Katun’s MFPs are developed to safeguard sensitive information and ensure secure document handling through hard drive encryption and network protection, providing customers with reassurance that their business is protected from potential security threats.
Sustainability
Katun has long been dedicated to making offices greener, and this commitment is evident in the Arivia MFPs. In partnership with PrintReleaf™, Katun’s Print It, Plant It program makes it easy for customers to contribute to global reforestation. When an Arivia MFP is bought and print monitoring is set up through an authorised Arivia dealer, a tree will be planted for every 8,333 pages that are printed. This helps users to help offset the environmental impact of their printing. However, participation in this program is optional.
In addition, Katun has designed the Arivia line to be low on power consumption – only components necessary for an activity are activated, for instance. With Katun’s long-established reputation in the industry, it means that customers are often already aware of the brand, which will help when resellers are talking to them about the products.
