Kyocera Document Solutions collaboration seen at Paris Fashion Week ®

Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. and fashion brand “ANREALAGE” presented a collaboration item at the Paris Fashion Week ® Spring/Summer 2025 women’s collection . This item was created using fabrics composed of “MURON” yarn made from recycled fishing nets and then printed using Kyocera’s “FOREARTH” inkjet textile printer. MURON was developed by Morito Apparel Co. Ltd.

This collection presented by “ANREALAGE” was produced according to the concept of “visualising the invisible power of wind”. Wind makes waves on the surface of water, creating currents that promote evaporation and form clouds. This causes precipitation and maintains the Earth’s water cycle. The interaction between wind and water therefore plays a very important role in the environment.

With this concept in mind, a collaboration between Kyocera’s “FOREARTH” printing technology, which reduces water consumption by 99.98%, and “MURON” recycled yarn from used fishing nets that helps solve the problem of marine plastic pollution, was created in the form of a special, sustainable fabric that was introduced as part of the “ANREALAGE” collection.

Recycled fishing net thread “MURON”

Recycling of used fishing nets and gear has become an important issue in terms of marine plastic pollution worldwide. According to a marine debris survey conducted by the Ministry of the Environment in fiscal year 2016, discarded fishing nets and ropes account for approximately 40% of the total weight of plastic waste washing up on shores in Japan. “MURON” is made from 100% recycled fishing net waste collected in Japan.

Comments from the designer of “ANREALAGE”, Mr. Kunihiko Morinaga:

We thought that printing “FOREARTH” on used fishing nets would be a sustainable approach to water. We believe that recycling used fishing nets into fibers will contribute to the protection of the global environment and water. I feel an affinity between the social meaning of “FOREARTH”, which minimizes water usage, and textiles made from recycled fishing nets. We want to contribute to solving problems such as water pollution and high CO2 emissions in the world of textile printing with our sustainable inkjet textile printer “FOREARTH”.
