Apogee Corporation recently held an Active Challenge and Easter Prize Draw to raise over £2,800 for the British Heart Foundation and promote the importance of healthy living to employees. The money raised will support the charity’s vision to create a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases.
Over the past two months, Apogee employees have walked, run, cycled, and fundraised in support of the British Heart Foundation. The top participants covered impressive distances – with the leading runner clocking up 872.98 km and the top cyclist covering 1,542.70 km.
The funds raised will help make a real difference to the British Heart Foundation’s ground-breaking research into new treatments and cures for heart and circulatory diseases.
“On behalf of the British Heart Foundation, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at Apogee Corporation for their fantastic efforts during Heart Month. Their dedication to running, walking, and cycling countless miles to raise vital funds for our cause is truly inspiring”, said Lauren Hearnden, Fundraising Manager at British Heart Foundation.
“Heart and circulatory diseases affect millions of people in the UK, and the funds they (Apogee) have raised will play a crucial role in supporting our life-saving research, improving treatments, and preventing heart-related illnesses. Thank you Apogee for the support and for going the extra mile to make a difference.”
The ‘Apogee Adventure’ challenge invited employees to track their physical activity over two months using the fitness app Strava. As well as fundraising for a fantastic cause, the challenge also promoted wellbeing across Apogee by encouraging employees to take active breaks throughout the day – supporting both physical and mental health across the organisation. BHF also hosted several CPR training sessions for employees to learn how they could potentially help in real-life scenarios.
“British Heart Foundation does incredible work researching cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases, so I’m delighted with the amount we have raised for this cause and would like to thank everyone who participated in the challenge or donated. These fundraisers also provide the opportunity to reflect on the importance of wellbeing – something we’re very proud to support at Apogee,” said Dom Gryszan, Director of Marketing at Apogee.
This fundraiser forms part of Apogee’s ongoing commitment to supporting charities and organisations across the UK and Ireland.
