IDC: Epson achieves No. 1 Market share for Inkjet Printers

According to IDC worldwide figures for Q3 in 2025*, Epson has taken the number one market position for volume of inkjet printers globally, a position previously held by HP.

“This is a significant achievement for us and one we’re very proud to have secured,” says Karl Angove, vice president for home and office print, Epson Europe. “This landmark success is the result of a continuous focus on product quality and customer value, creative marketing and external communications, and the strong relationships and partnerships we have developed within our teams and with our with channel and retail partners”.

Epson remains worldwide number one in ink tank printers by both units and value, since creating the category over 15 years ago. This new positioning for all inkjet volume is testament to its Heat-Free technology gaining increased traction within business and public sector environments, likely due to its significant environmental advantages over laser printing technology.

“I’m personally delighted with this success”, continues Angove. “It’s a great way for us to start the New Year and positions us well to support further growth initiatives for inkjet printing during 2026.”

At Epson UK, Nick Taylor, Head of Sales in the Office Print Division, has commented:

“This milestone reflects years of commitment to innovation, our Heat-Free Technology, and the strong partnerships we’ve built with customers, resellers, and the wider channel. As demand grows across business and public‑sector environments, it’s fantastic to see inkjet leading the way—both in performance and sustainability. A huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey. Onwards and upwards for 2026.”

Onwards and upwards indeed.
