About AMOLED
An AMOLED display is a type of OLED screen commonly used in smartphones, tablets and increasingly laptops. AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode. Unlike a traditional LCD screen, an AMOLED display does not need a separate backlight. Each individual pixel produces its own light.
That gives AMOLED screens several advantages, in that AMOLED displays can deliver true blacks, very high contrast and vibrant colours, while also being thinner and lighter than traditional LCD panels. They also offer fast response times and potentially improved battery life, particularly when displaying darker content.

Weighing just 199g, the X40 is lightweight in mass only. With its rugged cover, it can withstand drops of up to five feet (1.5m) and can remain operational in challenging temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C.
