Stockport-based Cartridge Save Limited has announced its successful transition to a 100% employee-owned business.
The transaction sees the entire issued share capital of Cartridge Save Limited transferred to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), operating under CS EOT Limited. The move secures the independent future of the company, which was founded in 2003, and directly rewards the dedicated workforce that has driven its sustained growth and success in the competitive e-commerce sector.
Its move to employee ownership is notable because Employee Ownership Trusts remain relatively uncommon in the print industry and it could strengthen the company’s long-term independence while aligning employees more closely with its future growth.
The transition to an EOT allows Cartridge Save to protect its unique company culture and core values while continuing to deliver the exceptional service and value its customers and suppliers expect.
Sean Blanks, Director at Cartridge Save, commented on the transition:
“This is a tremendously proud moment for the entire team. We have always believed that our people are the driving force behind Cartridge Save’s success. By transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust, we are securing the long-term legacy of the business and ensuring that the people who work hard every day to serve our customers are the ones who share in its future success. For our customers and supplier partners, it is business as usual—but with an even more motivated and invested team behind the scenes.”
The existing leadership team, including directors Sean Blanks, Ian Cowley and Jonathan Clark, will remain in place to guide the business through its next phase. Additional directors Graeme Lawton, Nichola Ansbro and Robert Loveday were appointed in May 2026. The day-to-day operations, management structure, and strategic direction of the online retailer remain unchanged.
The EOT model, introduced by the UK government to promote employee ownership, has become an increasingly popular succession strategy for forward-thinking businesses looking to prioritise long-term stability, staff retention, and sustainable growth.
