Sharp Europe releases Synappx Cloud Print 2.0 and Synappx Cloud Capture

Sharp Europe has expanded its Synappx solutions ecosystem with the launch of Synappx Cloud Print 2.0 and the introduction of Synappx Cloud Capture.

Sharp is extending the role of the Multi Function Printer (MFP) beyond printing and scanning to an intelligent gateway for business workflows. The new solutions form part of Sharp’s growing ecosystem of cloud-based services that complement hardware investments and help customers improve efficiency, security and productivity.

Rob Davis, Solutions and Services Business Manager at Sharp Europe, comments:

“Print technology remains an important part of the modern workplace, but customers increasingly expect more than hardware alone. Our Synappx ecosystem is designed to extend the value of the MFP by integrating it into wider digital workflows. With Synappx Cloud Print and Synappx Cloud Capture, we’re helping organisations simplify everyday processes, strengthen security and accelerate digital transformation.”

Synappx Cloud Print 2.0 is designed to deliver an enhanced user experience while making cloud-based print management easier to deploy and maintain.

The latest version introduces a completely redesigned user interface across both the MFP and web portal, providing a more intuitive and modern experience for end users and administrators alike. The platform also extends support beyond Windows environments to include Chromebook and macOS devices, enabling organisations to support a broader range of workplace technologies.

Key benefits include:

  • Secure pull-printing, allowing users to release print jobs only after authenticating at a connected device.
  • Multiple authentication options including PIN, email, URL authentication and card or fob access.
  • Simplified onboarding through integration with existing network directories and automated user provisioning.
  • Enhanced administrative visibility, including fleet-wide monitoring, usage reporting, audit trails and security oversight.
  • Regular cloud-delivered updates and security enhancements without requiring customer intervention.

Synappx Cloud Capture is designed to help organisations transform unstructured documents into actionable business data.

The cloud-based platform captures information from multiple sources including MFPs, email inboxes, folders and cloud storage services. Using AI-powered extraction and classification capabilities, it can automatically identify, extract and process key information from documents such as invoices, customer correspondence and business forms before routing that information into downstream systems.

Capabilities include:

  • Extracting supplier details, invoice numbers and line-item information from invoices.
  • Identifying and categorising customer correspondence such as complaints or service requests.
  • Routing validated information into accounting, HR or other line-of-business applications.
  • Automating manual document processing workflows while maintaining human oversight.

Unlike traditional document capture solutions that often require extensive professional services and custom coding, Synappx Cloud Capture uses AI to dramatically simplify implementation. Users can setup the system using sample documents, define required data fields and establish confidence thresholds to ensure appropriate human review where necessary.

The solution includes configurable workflow blueprints, review processes and dashboards that provide visibility into document volumes, processing status and licensing utilisation.
