Last week, the World celebrated annual “Bee Day” on Wednesday. World Bee Day takes place on 20 May every year, and is a United Nations-backed global awareness day focused on protecting bees and other pollinators, which play a critical role in food production, biodiversity and environmental sustainability. The theme for 2026 was:
“Bee Together for People and the Planet – A partnership that sustains us all.”
In 2023 Kyocera Document Solutions UK installed 2 beehives on the roof at their Reading offices, with an initial 30,000 honey bees which rapidly increased to 120,000.
The team are immensely proud of their bees, and the office rooftop provides an ideal, safe place.
To celebrate World Bee Day 2026, the Kyocera team held a “Bee Pun” competition, with the winner receiving a jar of Kyocera honey.
Winner: Matthew Rapson, Sales Director from Aspect Business Communications Ltd.
and the Bee Pun?
Hive got to say… this is a pretty sweet initiative 🍯
Congratulations Matthew. The demand for Kyocera honey is really buzzing right now!
