Newland NPT Speeds Terminal Deployment with Remote Key Injection

Newland Payment Technology (NPT), a global provider of payment terminals and technology solutions, has partnered with Futurex to deliver a hosted remote key injection (RKI) service for payment terminals across North America.

Before a payment terminal can accept transactions, it must be loaded with the cryptographic keys that protect cardholder data. Traditionally, this has meant injecting keys at a secure facility before devices are shipped to merchants – adding cost, logistics and delay to every deployment. RKI enables those keys to be delivered to terminals remotely and securely, so terminals can be shipped direct and brought into service sooner.

The solution will support secure payment deployments for processors and channel partners throughout the United States and Canada.

Heather Hatch, Head of Solutions and Business Support at Newland, commented:

“Security is a foundational element of our North American growth strategy. By partnering with Futurex, we’re accelerating our ability to deliver a secure, scalable remote key injection platform that complements our Android SmartPOS portfolio, PayExplorer payment application, and terminal management solutions. This partnership enables us to bring a more complete payments ecosystem to our customers while reducing deployment complexity and improving time-to-market.”

Jason Way, VP of Payment Cryptography Services at Futurex, added:

“Remote key injection removes one of the most persistent friction points in terminal deployment, but it only works if security and compliance are absolute. Our hosted platform gives Newland and its partners a compliant, scalable way to inject and manage keys across their terminal estates – reducing field service costs and supporting their growth across North America.”

Newland provides enterprise-grade payment security solutions designed to meet stringent PCI security requirements, including PCI DSS, PCI P2PE, and PCI PIN.
