Roland DG Launches VersaObject IO-300 and RC-300 Series

Roland DG has launched the VersaObject IO-300 and VersaObject RC-300 Series, two new industrial UV printing solutions designed to meet demands for high-mix, short-run manufacturing and product decoration.

The launches provide manufacturers, decorators, print service providers, and packaging producers with new ways to deliver customised products, and reduce the costs and complexities associated with traditional production methods.

Kevin Shigenoya, Executive Officer at Roland DG, comments:

“Businesses today need production solutions that can adapt quickly to changing customer demands without compromising quality or profitability. While the IO-300 and RC-300 Series are designed for different production environments and applications, both help customers respond more quickly to demand for shorter runs, greater customization, and faster turnaround times. Each brings the precision, performance, and ease of use needed for industrial direct-to-object printing, enabling customers to expand their offerings, improve efficiency, and unlock new revenue opportunities.”

VersaObject IO-300

The VersaObject IO-300 is engineered for industrial parts decoration, product customisation, and applications where accuracy, repeatability and durability are essential.

Equipped with newly developed printheads, advanced dot control and Roland DG’s latest UV ink technology, it reaches production speeds of up to 37.6 square feet per hour (3.5 m²/h) in standard CMYK mode. New Pinnacle EUV-H Hard Ink, specially formulated for industrial applications, is available for the IO-300 in 750 ml pouches, with configurations including CMYK, White, Primer, and Gloss.

The IO-300’s advanced multi-layer printing capability improves alignment accuracy and production efficiency. The printer is suited to applications requiring precise registration across multiple layers, including industrial graphics, control panels, nameplates, promotional products, cosmetic packaging, and customised consumer goods.

The IO-300 supports a wide range of materials including polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, PVC, glass, aluminium, and stainless steel, while its 30″ x 20″ (770 mm x 515 mm) print area accommodates a broad range of production requirements.

The printer features direct output control from its integrated display and remote management functionality through the Roland DG Connect app, enabling users to monitor and manage key production tasks more efficiently. Included VersaWorks RIP software and access to the Roland DG Connect platform provide integrated tools for print production, device monitoring, and workflow management.

VersaObject RC-300

Complementing the IO-300, the new VersaObject RC-300 Series is comprised of two helical UV printers – the RC-300 and the RC-300c – designed for direct-to-object printing across a wide range of cylindrical and tapered items.

RC-300 Series printers enable users to print high-quality graphics directly onto bottles, tumblers, drinkware, cans, and other promotional, packaging and consumer products, including objects with convex or concave geometries, eliminating many of the setup complexities traditionally associated with such decoration. A simplified workflow helps reduce setup time and minimise potential user errors.

With two different models available, users can choose the device that best suits their specific needs. While both the RC-300 and RC-300c are built for short runs, premium customisation, and fast set-up of applications such as containers, promotional items, and limited-edition packaging, the RC-300c model is ideal for printing on clear or translucent bottles, even pre-filled and/or pre-labeled bottles. This makes the RC-300c a perfect choice for beverage brands, cosmetics packaging, and manufacturers seeking digital alternatives to traditional decoration methods.

RC-300 Series printers are compatible with a wide range of materials, including glass, PET, aluminium, steel, and rigid plastics. Advanced EUV-H hard inks in 1-liter bottles of CMYK, White, Gloss and Primer enable the durable production of vibrant colors, detailed graphics, and premium finishes without requiring custom tooling.

With production speeds capable of printing a medium-sized object, such as a 20-ounce tumbler, in approximately 60 seconds (60 seconds for Φ3.94″ x L7.87″ (100 mm x L200 mm) by Wh+CMYK printing), the RC-300 Series offers an efficient solution for short-run production, seasonal campaigns, limited editions, and personalised products.
