Toshiba has launched its next generation industrial barcode label printer, the BX410T, which has been designed to enable smarter and cloud enabled solutions for businesses in a range of sectors.

In manufacturing, logistics and retail settings, barcode labels are crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the business. But as technology advances, so too do users demands for barcode labels and, as a result, the printers that print them.

To this end, Toshiba has launched the BX410T, powered by the new multi-OS A-BRID platform. This barcode label printer is designed to enhance productivity and ease integration for businesses operating in complex, evolving and dynamic environments.

Built on Toshiba’s trusted hardware foundation, the BX410T features cutting-edge improvements in connectivity and usability. With its dual-core processor and the advanced A-BRID platform, the BX410T elevates label printing to the next level, enabling smarter, cloud-enabled solutions for seamless integration and operational agility.

Redefining industrial label printing

The BX410T combines field-proven reliability with the technological innovation of the A-BRID platform, designed to handle even the most demanding printing requirements. With features like automatic PDF direct printing, easy print data conversion, and device management via the cloud, this new eco-system introduces a ground-breaking approach, redefining how businesses achieve seamless operations and fulfil complex integration requirements.

“The BX410T series is a game-changer for businesses requiring high-performance label printing,” says Deyon Antoine, product marketing manager at Toshiba Tec. “By leveraging the power of A-BRID, we’ve brought ultra-secure cloud-based intelligence and smart connectivity to industrial printing to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

The BX410T is aimed at businesses in the manufacturing, logistics and retail sector, says Deyon.

“The BX410T is a next-generation industrial printer – with a dual core CPU, large memory and the latest connectivity. It provides real competitive edge with near edge and ribbon save, centred media alignment, label near-end detection and long length ribbons.”

Key features of the BX410T

Dual-core CPU: Combines a real-time OS and a Linux OS to enable the A-BRID eco-system, enhancing performance and enabling high level and unique technology

Superior hardware: Long-life print heads and Toshiba’s ribbon save technology ensure high durability and low total cost of ownership

Enhanced user experience: Integrated label near-end detection, a full-colour display, and QR code-based help function simplify daily operations

Customisable interface: Offers the creation of a tailored user interface to meet specific operational needs

Cloud-enabled: e-BRIDGE CloudConnect enables remote management for firmware updates, counter reading and log retrieval

RFID encoding: Features optional embedded RFID encoding and a new embedded RFID analyse app, which runs on the A-BRID platform

Versatile connectivity: From standard USB and LAN ports to optional Wi-Fi, the BX410T provides flexible, secure connection options.

A-BRID

The printer is powered by A-BRID platform, which itself was launched just a week before the BX410T. As part of Toshiba’s expanding auto-ID solutions portfolio, A-BRID serves as a central hub for managing and integrating label printing systems. This platform enables new technological approaches to seamlessly bridge different printer setups and languages, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow that simplifies label production.

The A-BRID platform can automatically detect printer languages and support diverse applications. Its cloud connectivity allows for remote device management, making it an ideal solution for businesses adapting to the fast-paced, connected world of Industry 4.0.

A-BRID’s key capabilities include:

Cloud management: Remote printer monitoring, updates and management through e-BRIDGE CloudConnect

Customisable workflows: Embedded applications for e.g. standalone printing, transforms the BX printers into fully operational hubs to eliminate workstations

Automatic printer language detection: Supports seamless integration with legacy systems, enabling a true plug-and-print solution

Full function PDF direct printing: Allows for direct, auto-scaled and auto-rotated printing of PDFs without additional software.

Toshiba’s A-BRID platform opens new possibilities for business partners by offering customisable, scalable solutions to cater to a range of industry needs. With the BX410T, partners can provide tailored solutions to their customers, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity and empowering them to strengthen their competitive edge in the auto-ID market.

“Our new A-BRID operating system empowers label and barcode solutions like never before,” says Deyon. “It brings the agility of cloud-based intelligence to industrial printing and provides the smart connectivity and customisation to deliver projects swiftly and securely every time.”

The A-BRID system is also very secure, adds Deyon. “A-BRID is based on a self-contained and secure Linux system to ensure the highest security standards,” he says. “A-BRID brings enhanced network security, Wi-Fi security with the latest encryption standards and device certificates security. In addition, only whitelisted apps, tested and certified by Toshiba will run on A-BRID.”

It can also help businesses to achieve their sustainability goals. “A-BRID’s smarter, more responsive processes can reduce consumables waste and even ensure more direct and efficient deliveries,” Deyon says.

Selling to customers

When resellers are selling the BX410T to customers, there are various features that they should be highlighting, according to Deyon. This includes cloud connectivity and that the user interface and app-based workflows are fully customisable.

“Also, automatic print language detection works with legacy and future systems, and it has easy, seamless integration with existing systems,” he says. “It can also do direct PDF printing and standalone printing.”
