Ricoh and Flora launch hybrid display printer

Sign and display specialists will enjoy greater flexibility with the Flora X20 UV Hybrid printer powered by Ricoh – the first printer to be co-developed by Flora and Ricoh following an agreement between the two last year.

Greater production flexibility and versatility for sign and display specialists is delivered by the new Flora X20 UV hybrid printer powered by Ricoh.

This compact-footprinted hybrid printer was co-developed by Ricoh with Flora, following last year’s partnership agreement between the two companies.

Incorporating Ricoh printhead technology, ColorGATE RIP software and ICC profiles, the Flora X20 UV can run rigid and flexible media up to 2m wide and 5.1cm thick on substrates ranging from PVC banners to vinyl and rigid boards.

Support is provided by Ricoh’s professional EMEA sales and service network.

Key features of the X20 UV include:

• Delivery of ‘day one’ quality, year after year, with Ricoh MH5320 next generation variable dot inkjet printheads

• Ink flexibility with three ink configurations – CMYK, CMYKWW and CMYKWClear

• Smooth media handling with auto media detection that manages location and thickness

• Reduced maintenance and energy consumption enabled by the linear motor that supports high speed and smooth carriage motion

• Precision and automation with the Select Ricoh Hybrid Edition of ColorGATE Rip Server

• Previewing print quality with an LED lightbox system

• A dedicated ICC profile portal with Ricoh Colorbase

• Stabilised media feed with a pedal operated and adjustable vacuum

• Continued client support with Ricoh sales and service, logistics and finance.

“The X20 UV has been developed in response to market demand from sign and display specialists who are increasingly looking for flexible and versatile solutions for indoor and outdoor applications,” says Angelo Mandelli, senior product and business development manager, Large Format & Flatbed EMEA Product Marketing, Ricoh Graphic Communications Group.

“This Ricoh hybrid proposition, with a wealth of Ricoh developed features, supports that. As does our consultancy-based approach and expert service team. The X20 UV is the latest system to join our unique one stop offering that includes sheetfed, high-speed inkjet, large format, textile, and software solutions.

“We look forward to further expanding our product portfolio with highly responsive and agile large format systems that respond to emerging demands in the graphics arts, interior décor, and industrial markets.”

The Flora X20 UV hybrid printer, powered by Ricoh, is available across EMEA from this month. Demonstrations can be arranged at Ricoh’s Customer Experience Centre in Telford.
